BROOKLYN MUSEUM: Part I

Museum front facade, note the contemporary addition that mimics removed steps... Interesting enough, the steps were not original to the structure...

...Well as it turns out the Brooklyn Museum was doing A DAY OF FASHION last Saturday in conjunction with their current exhibit: American High Style: Fashioning a National Collection, and the MET's Exhibit: American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity (see beautiful video here). So we opted to head to Brooklyn and save the MET for the next weekend....

First let me say I am enamored - completely smitten, with the Brooklyn Museum. What an amazing, intimate, wonderfully diverse, engaging, well curated museum, as well as a beautiful architectural space it is.... The energy is O-so-o-o-o refreshing. It has firmly moved into first place as my favorite museum... Which was really what Saturday was about, the fashion vibe that is Brooklyn's alone (more about that later from fellow traveler, and former Brooklynite Leanora).

Much to share, so I decided to do a 3-part series on the subject. Here is the first installation of images. High fashion dolls and their clothing...

I wanted to run home get out a needle and thread and start making doll clothes... On the way to the train through the grand entrance to Prospect Park I got this lovely fountain shot...

What a lovely day...
